Dr Phillip Bushell-Guthrie has more than 40 years of experience in specialist surgical practice, with extensive training and clinical experience in Australia and the United Kingdom.

His background in dentistry and specialist surgery has provided him with a detailed understanding of the complex anatomy and function of the mouth, jaws and face.

Education

Born and raised in Brisbane, plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Bushell-Guthrie attended the University of Queensland obtaining degrees in both Medicine and Dentistry. He then worked as a research fellow in the faculty of dentistry with the National Health and Medical Research Council. After completing his basic hospital training at teaching hospitals in Brisbane, Dr. Bushell-Guthrie undertook specialist training in plastic and maxillofacial surgery in England at The Royal London Hospital and Frenchay Hospital, as well as at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He later returned to Brisbane to enter practice in plastic, reconstructive, oral, and maxillofacial surgery with an interest in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Bushell-Guthrie is a registered plastic and maxillofacial surgeon operating out of Brisbane and Mackay, Queensland.
